The Benefits of Proficiency

There are many pleasures received from accomplishing great work, and a few dangers from faking it.

In my opinion, we know when we’ve taken our time on something and really applied ourselves.  Conversely, the little man inside will always reminds us of those times when we decided to rush or failed to take the extra time a project deserves.

There’s a simple solution to an otherwise problematic situation.

Don’t Give the Voice a Reason to Speak

Don’t give the little voice in your head a reason to take the stand.  Don’t let him speak.  Keep him away from you.

Whenever I take on a project, it becomes my primary focus.  I insist on producing world-class results.  I take great pride in my work.

Do you?

Many people have the tendency to quit at the first sign of failure or frustration.  Experts are wired differently – they thrive on challenges.  It’s the fuel that runs their engine.

Why take on a project without proper focus and dedication?  Added concentration and a smidge more effort will make all the difference in the finished product.  In the end, you confidently deliver a project with a unique sense of self-pride.  Yet, everywhere you look, there seems to be a growing undercurrent of laziness wandering through too many people.

Average is everywhere.  Ordinary seems to be the new norm. 

What happened?  Why did so many people lose respect for their own reputation?

More people need to master their inner thoughts with an unconscious effort to churn out great work without compromising time and quality.  Take pride in what you do and you will have more fun working at what you do.  The results will speak for themselves; an you’ll never have to share time again with the “little voice in your head.”
